A Modern Day Knight's Creed

Hundreds of years ago special men lived by a special creed. An ethical code, a standard of living. What they did, said, and their views were directed by this code. This code was a symbol of their position; and was carried by all worthy of that title.
These men acted honorably, they gave respect, they were courageous in face of fear, they bore victory with great humility, they were devoted to their duties and king, they were loyal to God, their king, and country, they were modest in position and appearance, they were committed to their responsibilities, they were honest in word and deed, and they were pure of heart and mind.
Sir, was their title; and their position, a knight. Did these values embody the knights of long ago? I do not know; but I would like to think so. Has knighthood been lost in the centuries following? Yes! This modern day knight has his own creed, do you?

As a modern day knight so deemed and appointed by God I here by do so state my creed:
To be honorable, for my deeds are all to be worthy, my actions pleasant, and my words wise.
To be respectful, before all to show kindness, before men to treat as a father, women as a mother, before my authorities and superiors courtesy and instant obedience, before parents the utmost of my attention, and siblings my time.
To be courageous, to know the right and do the right at the right time.
To be humble, knowing I am but a servant at all times, and to all.
To be devoted, mostly to God, and to all that He appoints me to be responsible for.
To be loyal, first to God, in the family take a part, and to country be a giver of opportunity not a taker.
To be modest, fight pride first, make people look at the heart by giving them nothing to see on the outside.
To be committed, God's will is always first, your family's needs, and you always last.
To be honest, total honesty before God, afterwards honesty with others and yourself is possible.
To be pure, in thought and deed, before God, and for wife.

Thus, ends my creed. With God's blessing and direction may you also be a modern day knight.
